First pieces of hull planking laid on La Savoie

This week, Chantier BERNARD carpenters have started to install the first pieces of hull planking on Barque La Savoie. These thick pieces of wook were first heated with steam, then bent on the frame to take the right shape using clamps and jacks. Carpenters being away this week, volunteers will clean and paint the ribs on the frame, ready for the carpenters' return within 8 days.
